What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Many of my friends have suffered through the stigma of divorce, feeling like there’s a scarlet D seared on them for life. I was inspired to write this book to encourage women that there is life after divorce and the hope of second chances.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The main character, Jillian is a composite of the many women of faith I’ve known who have found themselves cheated on and deserted. It seems that one of the most heartrending struggles of divorce is maintaining a healthy relationship with any children. It can be so challenging for divorcees to refrain from bad-mouthing the departed spouse to their children, so I created Jillian’s 16 year-old daughter, Dani, who doesn’t fully understand why her father up and left them. Ultimately, this story is about learning to trust again and getting a second chance at romance, but it’s also a love story about the challenged relationship between this mother and daughter.
