What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
While this book is fiction, and all the characters are created out of my imagination, it was also inspired by my own youth. The story brings to life reminiscences of good times had during the 1980s; and also includes a loving tribute to a lost friend – but to say more would be a spoiler.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Each heroine exaggerates and expands some human characteristics I can empathise with and draw out. Kathy is artistic and fun loving, but she is probably more outgoing and confident than I was at that age. The people around her are largely the characters I created for the first book, Silver Springtime, but by now, they have taken a life of their own & tend to depart from the script I had in mind for them. Hence, some break up, make up with new people, and a general relationship reshuffle begins.There is a deliberate mixture of personalities and probability based on their situations.
