Free from April 11 – 15. In this spiritual memoir, author Timothy Powell, Jr. retells growing up with an abusive father. Then he contrasts that experience with the love, peace, and healing power available he later found through Jesus Christ. This is a must-read for anyone who is struggling to overcome childhood abuse or trauma.
Growing up, they didn’t believe they had a future. Together, they are building forever.
Alexis Black persevered through her mother’s death and her father’s imprisonment. And after escaping a long and abusive relationship, the college junior promised her foster parents not to date for at least a year. But when she meets an incoming freshman on the first day of their scholarship program, she feels the world melt away, as though it were only the two of them in the room.
Justin Black lived in the poorest section of Detroit before his parents surrendered him to the foster care system at the age of nine. But when he grabs the chance for better opportunities by pursuing higher education, he can’t help but be drawn to a beautiful third-year student. At first, their past traumas–and their age difference–conspired to complicate their attraction. But the joy each took in the other and eventually conquered those obstacles, and these two survivors journeyed together toward healing.
In a stark and wholehearted true story that shares how two individuals on separate paths found each other, Alexis and Justin merge their course into one full of hope and purpose. And hand-in-hand, with a desire to help others, they learned to reject the abusive patterns of their past, thereby intentionally breaking the cycle of generational violence and unhealthy behaviors.
Written in an engaging novelistic style, the authors put forward a thoughtful exchange of ideas and personal experiences illustrating how anybody, no matter their backgrounds, can have a life of self-empowerment and joy. Broken down into four sections that cover crucial topics such as “Worthiness” and “Mental Health,” this compelling narrative will help any who are learning to love themselves and want to end the line of toxic relationships.
Redefining Normal: How Two Foster Kids Beat The Odds and Discovered Healing, Happiness, and Love is a page-turning memoir that will open your eyes to possibilities and dreams. If you like honest tales of triumph, refreshing transparency, and resilient faith in God, then you’ll adore Justin and Alexis’ inspirational story.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was a blogger first, and I used to include stories about my time in Asia and Africa. Readers often encouraged me to write a book, but I thought my stories lacked a coherent thread to tie the stories together. It was not until I'd healed from another bout of grief that I saw that God had indeed given me a coherent story to tell.
Stars Upside Down is the tale of a majestic God, who pursues us to the four ends of the earth, who leads us with cords of human kindness, a God who is rich in mercy, and who shepherds us through the hills and valleys of life until He brings us into His glory.
For 3 terrifying days Michelle Hamilton, clung helplessly to her small capsized canoe in the South China Sea. Menaced by hungry sharks, enduring tropical storms and with no food or water, Michelle hovered near death. For Michelle the miracle is not so much that she survived, but how she survived! At critical moments, she heard an audible voice telling her exactly what to do to survive.
Featuring world wide in Readers Digest, this modern day Jonah tale of Michelle’s experience with a merciful God and an amazing encounter with angels, is a story that will not only thrill but challenge you to have 100% Faith in God, in the midst of your own storms.
Co-written by Michelle’s mother Rachelle, she shares her story of a mother’s tireless vigil to find her lost child, of human helplessness and the intervention of a sovereign God.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Heartprints of Africa is a real story of how God prepared, provided, and protected three generations of a missionary family to East Africa as they journeyed through remote country, tropical illness, and a literal run from a battle for survival. I believe that story is very powerful-crossing barriers of age, religion, and politics. The story of my life, like anyone else if they will tell it, can make a difference in others' lives. A reader pulls out of my story what they need for their journey.
One reader said, “This is a beautiful book. Mimi’s words are peaceful, healing and empowering to anyone on any type of life changing-journey. This book will give you hope and strength.”
Another reader said, “This book is incredibly good. I have been through a 15-year journey with my health as well, and really could have used this when I was at my lowest. It is an invaluable resource and I recommend it highly.”
Based on a true story, a new novel from Diamante Lavendar. Joan Eastman was born like any other girl. However her life would prove to be a life of great pain… Growing up, she was treated differently by family members, powerless to defend herself against their sexual and psychological abuse. Feeling she had been dealt a wicked hand by the “powers that be”, she spiraled into substance abuse and troubled relationships. She became a victim of addiction and self-hatred. Not giving up, she becomes aware of a greater spiritual being that protects her and she begins to heal. Then she finds herself pregnant. She learns to understand nothing is hopeless; that with a changed view and self discovery, there is real hope in every situation, no matter how difficult. As she and her husband look forward to the birth of their child, she writes in her diary as a way of expelling all of the evil memories. On bed rest for the duration of her pregnancy, she endures tests and tribulations that at first she couldn’t begin to understand. But no matter how high the hurdles in Joan’s life are, she doesn’t look back, and pulls the pieces of her life together…for herself and her unborn child. This inspirational story speaks of Joan’s gradual self acceptance and healing of her body, mind and spirit. It speaks of the possibilities of the future and the fulfillment of the dream of love and family. And it speaks of jumping the hurdles in life without looking back, no matter how high those hurdles may be.
What inspired you to write your memoir?
I have had a very interesting life, a life that taught me a great deal. I would define that primarily as how to move from a place of anger and pain to a place of living in joy. I wanted to pass on that information to others, to help others learn how to heal and to know that it is always possible to heal.
About your Book:
The book follows the author from her upbringing in rural Scotland in the fifties and sixties, through life in England in the seventies, when she was a radical activist and one of the first environmentalists, finally coming out as a lesbian feminist and working against male domination in northern England. During that period she also worked on an organic farm in Wales. She then moved to northern California, where she worked as a mechanic, raised organic free-range hogs, and built her own house out of recycled lumber in the backwoods. She began some serious healing work, dealing with childhood issues of molest and abuse. In her forties, she had a series of remarkable epiphanies and began to question life very seriously. In the end, she discovers a level of unconditional love and forgiveness as she takes off traveling on her own, embracing the fullness of the free spirit she is.
Mikaya Heart is an award-winning author and a coach in the art of being fully alive, using shamanic methods to help people to learn how to operate from a place of trust instead of fear. She writes on subjects as varied as shamanism, orgasm, lesbianism, sports, travel and politics. She has been studying the nature of reality since she was very young, and loves to pass on what she has learned to others. She is presently based in northern California, but grew up in Scotland and travels the world constantly, spending a great deal of time alone in Nature. Her greatest joy is kitesurfing, a delightful dance with water and wind. Her work is consistently called inspiring and empowering.
How did you decide how to publish your book and where is it published through:
I self published it, simply because it is so hard to get a traditional publisher to pick up a memoir unless you are already well known. I used Dog Ear Publishing.
A SECOND IN ETERNITY is the true story about how the author became overwhelmed by escalating, unexplainable psychic phenomena, and ‘normal life’ ceased to exist. After a week of vacillating between euphoria and fear, he was hit head-on by a speeding car, and had an ‘out-of-body, near-death’ experience that still inspires him to this day.
Full of mystery, wit and spiritual insights, this story leads the reader through dimensions and worlds beyond imagination, revealing the Unity that underlies all things.
Convinced that the truth could be known, Gary started questioning God and the Universe early in life. At twenty he read the works of profound psychics like Madame Blavatsky, Ruth Montgomery and Edgar Cayce, leading him to understand and develop the psychic abilities he experienced since childhood. By the early 70’s he was giving readings using playing cards, Tarot Cards and other methodologies.
In 1977, Gary had an intense and life-changing ‘out-of-body, tunnel-of-light’ experience that empowers him more every day. A SECOND IN ETERNITY, his book about his fascinating voyage beyond time and space and into the Infinite Mind, is available on Amazon and Kindle. SEE: http://garywimmer.com/writer/eternity.htm
In 1980, Gary learned Lithomancy, and for decades he has used this system to give accurate and comprehensive readings to people in the USA and in Europe. Using intuition and decades of experience, Gary also taps into past lives, other people and situations, spiritual guides, karmic ties, discarnate souls, and systems at work under the surface, all of which shed light on how a person can become and stay empowered, develop intuition, and create positive outcomes. A master of Lithomancy, he is also the author of the only comprehensive book on the subject: Lithomancy, the Psychic Art of Reading Stones, now available on Amazon and Kindle. SEE: http://garywimmer.com/writer/litho_book.htm
He works regularly at psychic fairs, conventions, parties, fund-raisers, on cruise ships, on live radio shows and at all sorts of gatherings and events. SEE:
